Good design changes everything. It changes your mood, your outlook, your interactions.
Good design changes how the world views you…and how you view yourself. It catches eyes, turns heads, and springs to mind in all the right moments. Good design becomes the public voice of your organization – one of the most powerful voices you could ever speak with.
At Design Q, we know what good design can do. We’ve worked with start-ups, charities, mom & pops, and Fortune 500 companies: and we’ve seen the results of a new or revitalized look.
As a small creative studio, we take pride in working one-on-one with you to capture not only the best design, but the best results. Let us show you what good design can do for you.
- Katherine Quan: Owner, Principal Designer
After attending the University of Southern California, Katherine worked as a senior packaging designer for Mattel Toys in Los Angeles and as a graphic designer for Shell Oil in Houston for several years before relocating to Washington, D.C. to pursue a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. After graduating, Katherine for several years was the Managing Editor of Communio: International Catholic Review, a theological and philosophical journal. She currently works as a freelance graphic designer and studies Byzantine iconography painting in her spare time.
Design Q Studio works to support non-profits, corporations, and small businesses through brand identity, packaging, or print design.
Kind Words From Clients:
“It is always a pleasure to work with Katherine. Her design skills are excellent, we communicate regularly throughout any projects and the end result is a first class, visually impactful publication.”
--Jim Engelhardt, Communications Strategist, Catholic Diocese of Arlington
"As Creative Director and owner of an ad agency, I’ve been working with designers for 35 years. The good ones stand out. Katherine Quan is a great one. She has been single-handedly developing and producing the design of our entire K-8 curriculum at Ruah Woods Press. I trust her implicitly. She invokes a simple, clean and beautiful style. And she works fluidly with the brand elements she was given and those she develops. She knows how to manage the whole vision – adeptly stepping in as illustrator, art director and photographer, when the project calls for those dimensions to get us past a hurdle. Katherine makes it gorgeous for the consumer and simple for the client.
The best part about Katherine is her joy. Even in the midst of crushing deadlines. She exudes confidence and knows how to deliver beautifully on time and on budget. She is invaluable to our project.
I would recommend her to anyone…except that we still have A LOT of work for her to do for Ruah Woods Press this year!"
